Saree Palace

Saree Palace is located in the Kedar Complex, specifically at number 204. We are over in the Nawab Wadi area of Begumpura. It’s an old part of the city and has a lot of character and history. The complex itself is always busy with people going to different offices and shops. We are up on the second floor, so you have to look for the sign among all the others. Begumpura is a place where everyone seems to know everyone else’s business. We have been here long enough that we feel like part of the furniture. The room we have is filled with different sarees from floor to ceiling. It can get a bit cramped when more than three or four people are inside at once, but we make it work. We don't go in for fancy decorations or expensive lighting. The walls are plain, and the focus is just on the stock we have on the racks. Sometimes the power goes out in the complex, and we just sit by the window until the lights come back on. It’s not a corporate office; it’s just a shop. We spend our mornings checking the new arrivals and our afternoons talking to regular visitors who have been coming for years. The traffic on the road outside can be a headache, especially during the monsoon rains. We just keep the door open and wait for the next customer.
