Sanjivani Sarees

Our place, Sanjivani Sarees, is located at N-2080 inside the Surat Textile Market on Ring Road. If you know that market, you know how huge and confusing it can be. We are way up on the N floor. It takes a bit of time to get up here, especially when the elevators are busy with workers moving heavy loads. The market is always buzzing with energy and people shouting to get past. Inside our unit, it is a bit quieter but still very cramped. We have sarees stacked all the way to the ceiling in some parts. It's a lot of work to keep everything in its right place. Ring Road outside is usually jammed with trucks and rickshaws, so getting to work can be a headache. We spend most of our hours here sorting through different patterns and checking the stock. It’s a very physical job. We don't have any big windows so we rely on the overhead tubes for light. We’ve been at this spot in the Surat Textile Market for a good number of years. It’s not a glamorous life, just a lot of folding and packing and making sure the numbers match. We don't really do much else besides the daily grind. Sometimes we walk down to the ground floor just to see the sun for a few minutes. It is just how the textile business works here.
