Saloni Sarees

Millennium Textile Market is a huge place and we are tucked away in the I-block, specifically at 1470 and 1471. It is two units joined together, which gives us a bit more room than some of our neighbors, but we still manage to fill every inch with sarees. The Ring Road area is always jam-packed, so getting deliveries to the shop is a struggle every single morning. We usually start the day by clearing out the doorway so people can actually get inside. It is a lot of folding and unfolding, day after day. My hands get tired from all the fabric, but that is just the job. We do not have any fancy displays or bright lights, just the usual tube lights and some old fans that creak a bit. People come in looking for something specific, and we dig through the stacks until we find it. It is not a quiet place at all. You can hear people bargaining next door and the sound of trolleys clicking on the floor tiles. Sometimes the power goes out for a few minutes, and we just sit there in the dark until it comes back on. We aren't trying to be anything special, just a shop where you can find sarees without a lot of fuss. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we just keep moving the stock and talking to whoever stops by to see the new patterns.
