Saffron Saree

Our location is at No. 404 in Harinagar, which is in the Udhna part of town. It’s a bit away from the main textile hubs, which we actually prefer. Our space is on the fourth floor of a building that doesn't have a fancy lobby or even a working elevator most of the time. We walk up the stairs every day, which is a good way to wake up in the morning. The room is filled with sarees of all kinds. They are stacked up high on wooden shelves. We don't have any fancy displays or mannequins. It’s just the sarees and us. The walls are a bit scuffed from moving boxes around, and the floor is simple concrete. We have a big window that looks out over the Harinagar streets. You can see the kids playing and the traffic moving below. It’s a bit quieter here than on Ring Road, but Udhna still has its own noise. We have a small desk where we keep our registers and a few pens. Most of the day is spent folding and unfolding fabric to show it to people or checking the quality. We have a small electric kettle for making tea, which we do several times a day. It’s a humble, honest space where we do our business without any fuss. We’ve been here for years, and the neighbors all know us. It’s just a normal part of our lives in this corner of Udhna.
