Our spot is D- 1288/89/90 on the Upper Ground floor of the Radha Krishna Textile Market. Being on the Ring Road means we are right in the heart of the textile trade. It’s a chaotic place most days, with rolls of fabric moving everywhere and people shouting out prices. At Rudra Cotton House, we deal with a lot of cotton, as you might guess from the name. The air in our section of the market is usually filled with a bit of lint, and it can get pretty crowded when new stock arrives. We have three units joined together to give us enough room to stack the bales and still have space to walk. It’s a maze of fabric in here. We don’t have a fancy showroom. People just come in, look at the material, and we talk about what they need. The market has its own rhythm, starting early and going until late. We drink a lot of tea from the guys who walk around with kettles. Sometimes the lights flicker because the market's wiring is old, but we just keep going. We know the other sellers around us, and it’s a tight-knit group even if we are all competing. It’s hard work, lifting the heavy rolls and keeping track of the different grades of cotton, but it’s what we know. We aren't trying to be anything other than a reliable place in a busy market.
