This is our shop, Rinkesh Sarees, located at No. 107. It’s not a huge space, but we have managed to fill every corner with stock. We’ve been selling sarees for years now and it’s what we know. My family runs the place. Most of our day is spent unfolding fabric and then folding it back up again. It’s a lot of work on your hands and back. Customers come in looking for something specific, and we try to find it in the piles. The shelves are pretty packed. We don’t have a big website or anything like that. People just know us by word of mouth in the neighborhood. Sometimes the fans don't work right, so it gets a bit warm inside. We keep a handwritten ledger for everything. It’s a very traditional way of doing things, I guess. We see a lot of regulars who have been coming to us for a long time. They bring their daughters now. It’s nice to see familiar faces after all these years. We don’t do any fancy marketing. We just show up every day and open the metal shutters. The location is simple enough to find if you’re looking. We just try to keep enough variety so there’s something for everyone who walks through the door. It’s a quiet life mostly, just dealing with cloth and colors. We hope to stay here for many more years to come and keep serving the community.
