You can find us in the New Textile Market on Ring Road. It’s a huge place and it can be easy to get lost if you don't come here often. At Vijay Laxmi Sarees, we are surrounded by color every day. We deal with all kinds of sarees, from the simple ones people wear at home to the more detailed ones for parties. The market is always buzzing with traders and porters carrying heavy bundles on their shoulders. Our shop is often a bit messy because we are constantly pulling things down from the shelves to show people. We don’t really worry about keeping everything perfectly folded if it means the customer can't see the fabric properly. It’s a very hands-on way of working. Ring Road is the heart of the textile trade here, and being in the New Textile Market means we are right in the thick of it. We have regular customers who have been buying from us for years. They know we will give them a fair price without too much haggling, though a little bit of bargaining is part of the fun. We aren't a high-end designer store. We are just a local shop that knows sarees. It’s a lot of long hours, especially during the festival season, but we wouldn't have it any other way. We keep the kettle going and try to make everyone feel welcome when they step inside.
