Sepia Couture

You can find us at Plot No. 40 in the Khatodra GIDC area, right near the sub jail and the Ring Road. Sepia Couture is really just a busy workshop where there is always the sound of sewing machines humming. It’s a loud place because we’re right in the middle of the industrial zone. We spend our days surrounded by rolls of fabric and stacks of patterns. It gets a bit messy with threads and scraps of cloth all over the floor, but that’s just how a sewing room is. We have a few big tables for cutting and several machines lined up along the walls. The Ring Road traffic is a constant backdrop to our work. It’s hot in the workshop during the summer months, but we just keep the fans going and stay busy. We don’t have a retail store or a fancy entrance, just the workspace where the actual making happens. Most of our time is spent making sure the stitches are right and the orders are ready on time. We’ve got a small group of people who know how to handle different types of fabric. It’s hard work and it can be tiring for the eyes, but we’re used to it. We just focus on the job at hand and try to keep things moving. It’s a practical business and we like being in the thick of the GIDC.
