Ranisha Sarees

Down on 80 Feet Road in Katargam, you’ll find us at A/9/2. That’s where Ranisha Sarees is set up. It’s a busy road, and we get a lot of dust from the traffic, so we spend a fair amount of time dusting the displays. We aren't a huge operation. It’s just a few of us making sure the sarees are handled right and the orders get put together. Katargam is a working area, and we fit right in with that. We don’t have fancy carpets or air conditioning that works all the time. It’s just a practical space for a practical business. We open the shutters early in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. Most of our day is spent talking to people who come in looking for something specific. We don't use a lot of big words or try to push things on people. If they like what they see, that’s good. If not, we just keep working. The back room is usually a bit of a disaster with shipping plastic and tape rolls, but that’s how you know we’re actually working. We’ve seen other shops come and go on this road, but we’ve stuck around at A/9/2 for a while now. It’s not always easy, especially when the weather is hot and the road is loud, but it’s our spot. Ranisha Sarees is just a local business doing its best in Katargam and keeping things simple.
