Laxmi Creation

Our workshop is located at No. 84 in the Yogi Krupa Society, over on Yogi Chok. It’s along the Pune Simada Road in the Pune Gam area. We do a lot of creative work here, mostly related to fabrics and designs. The room is usually filled with the sound of sewing machines and people talking over the noise. We have big tables where we lay out the cloth and cut the patterns. The light in the society is pretty good during the day, so we don't have to use the overhead lamps until late afternoon. We are just a small group of people who enjoy making things with our hands. Sometimes we get a lot of orders at once and the whole place looks like a mess of thread and scrap fabric. We don't mind it though, because it shows we are busy. The neighbors in Yogi Krupa Society are nice and we often share a quick chat when we are outside. We keep our finished items in plastic covers on the racks near the door. The road outside can get dusty, so we keep the windows shut most of the time. We aren't a big factory, just a local spot where we put in the hours. Every week we have to go out and source new materials from the main markets. It’s a lot of walking and picking through colors, but it’s part of the job we do.
