You can find us at 204 on the lower ground floor of the building on Princess Street. It’s right on the Ring Road, so the traffic is always a bit much outside. Being on the lower ground means it stays a bit cooler than the top floors, which is nice in the summer. We deal mostly in silk. The shop is filled with that specific smell of new fabric. It’s a bit cramped because we try to fit as many designs as possible on the shelves. Sometimes we have to move three boxes just to get to one specific color a customer wants. The Ring Road area is always humming with people looking for textiles. We open up early and stay late most days. The stairs coming down to us are a bit narrow, so you have to watch your step. We don't do much in the way of decoration, just some bright lights so the silk colors look right. We spend a lot of time checking for loose threads and making sure the pleats stay neat in the packaging. It’s steady work. Most of the people who come in have been sent by friends or just stumbled upon us while walking the street. We’ve got a small desk in the corner where we keep the accounts. It’s a practical space, nothing more. The coffee guy from the corner shop usually brings us a round in the afternoon which helps.
