Prabha D Patel

My name is Prabha D Patel and I am over at L/15 Nanavat. It is right opposite Vidhya which most people in the neighborhood can point you toward. Nanavat is a crowded part of town and L/15 is just a small slice of it. I’ve spent many years in this spot. It isn't a large place but it’s mine. The front door is a bit heavy and sometimes it sticks in the humidity. I usually sit near the front so I can see people passing by. Across the way at Vidhya there is always something going on. My space is filled with things I need for work and not much else. I don't like clutter but it seems to happen anyway. The ceiling is a bit low and the floor is tile. It stays relatively cool inside even when Surat gets really hot. I started here a long time ago and never felt the need to go anywhere else. L/15 Nanavat is just where I belong. I drink a lot of tea while I work and listen to the sounds of the street. It’s not a fancy corporate setup. It is just me, Prabha, in a room doing what needs to be done. If you walk past Vidhya you will see the sign for L/15 right there. I remember when the building next door was being built and the noise was constant for months. Now it is much quieter, except for the bells. I usually leave around six.
