Patel Battery

Patel Battery is a small shop over in Adajan Dn. If you come by, you’ll see we have batteries stacked up almost everywhere. They are heavy things, and my back definitely feels it by the end of the week. The shop isn’t much to look at, just some metal racks and a counter that has seen better days. We spend a lot of our time just testing units or cleaning up the terminals. The air usually smells a bit like metal and lead, which is just part of the job. Adajan is a busy area, so there is always noise from the traffic outside coming through the open door. We don’t have fancy air conditioning, just a couple of wall fans that push the air around. It gets quite messy when we are working on older batteries that have leaked a bit. We keep a stack of rags and some cleaning stuff under the counter for that. People from the neighborhood drop in when their cars or bikes won’t start, usually looking a bit stressed out. We just do what we can to help them out and get them moving again. The floor is stained from years of work, but we try to sweep it once a day at least. It’s a straightforward life here, just keeping things powered up. Sometimes a delivery truck comes by and we have to unload everything manually, which takes a lot of effort. We take a lunch break when we can, but usually, someone is around. By the evening, we are ready to close up and go home.
