Om Sai Gold Testing

Our shop is located on Ghod Dod Road at U 15. We’ve been here for a while, and most people in the neighborhood know us for gold testing. It is a small, quiet place because the work we do requires a bit of focus. We have the testing machines set up on the main counter. When someone brings in a piece of jewelry, we just put it through the process to see what the purity is like. It’s not a jewelry store where you come to buy shiny things; it’s more of a technical spot. The shop isn’t very big, so if more than three people come in at once, it feels pretty crowded. Ghod Dod Road is a busy street, so we get a lot of walk-ins who just want to be sure about what they have in their lockers. We don't use any fancy sales talk. We just show the reading on the machine and explain what it means in plain English. Sometimes the machines need calibrating, which takes a bit of time, but accuracy is the main thing here. We have a couple of stools for people to wait on, though most just stand by the counter. It’s a very specific kind of job, and we’ve gotten used to the steady rhythm of it. We see a lot of old coins and wedding sets. It’s just us doing our part in the local gold market.
