New English School

New English School is tucked into room F-6 of the Sidhdharth Complex. Most people know the building because it is right above Navrang Khaman House in the Hira Baug area. It is a busy part of Surat, especially with the food shop downstairs. You can often smell the snacks while we are sitting in the classrooms. We have been here for a long time, and the building is quite familiar to everyone around Hira Baug. The space we have isn't massive, but we make it work for the classes. We have our desks lined up and the teachers just get on with the lessons. It is a bit of an older complex, so it has that lived-in feel. We don't go for anything shiny or corporate. It is just a school where we teach the basics. Students come in their uniforms, and we follow the regular schedule every day. Sometimes it gets noisy when the market outside is full, but that is just life in this part of town. We handle all the usual school subjects. Parents often drop their kids off and then go do their shopping nearby. It is a very practical setup for the neighborhood. We focus on the teaching and don't worry too much about the rest. It is a plain, hardworking environment where everyone knows each other’s names. We just want to make sure the kids learn what they need for their exams and their future.
