Model Public School

We are out in the Kamrej area of Surat, serving the local families here at Model Public School. The school is situated in a spot that is easy for people in the village and the newer housing developments to reach. It’s a fairly large building with several floors to accommodate all the different grades we have. The classrooms are simple, with basic benches and desks that have seen a lot of use over the years. We have a bell that rings to start the day and to mark the end of every period, which is a sound everyone in this part of Kamrej is used to hearing. The staff consists of local teachers who have been with us for a long time, along with some newer faces who joined recently. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, but we have the essentials for teaching the regular curriculum. During the lunch break, the school yard gets quite loud with all the students eating and talking. We have a small office near the entrance where parents come to pay fees or ask about their children's progress. It’s a very grounded place. We don't pretend to be anything other than a local school providing a place for kids to learn. The weather can get quite hot here in Surat, so we have fans in every room, though they don't always keep everyone perfectly cool. It’s just a normal, everyday school for the community here, and we have been doing this for a long time now.
