Mominpur Up School

Out near Valak Patiya and Laskana, we are located inside the Shri Swaminarayan Mission School Campus. Mominpur Up School handles the older kids in the upper primary levels. This part of Surat, along Varachha Road, has been growing a lot lately, so there is always some construction or dust in the air. Being on a larger campus means we share space with other groups, but we have our own section where our students gather. The walk from the main road to the school can be a bit long when it’s hot outside, but it’s tucked away from the heaviest traffic. Our classrooms are basic and functional. We have the usual desks, chairs, and charts on the walls that the students made themselves. It’s not a luxury setup, but it works for what we need. The teachers here mostly focus on getting the students ready for high school. We spend a lot of time on the core subjects and making sure the kids stay on track with their studies. During the lunch break, the campus gets pretty loud with students from different sections all mixing together. It’s a bit of a walk to get to the main shops from here, so most of us bring our own lunch and eat together in the staff room. We aren't doing anything revolutionary; we are just a local school in Laskana trying to give these kids a decent start before they move on to bigger things.
