Mohammadia Ahsania Hr. Sec. School

Our school is right here in Memon Hall, over in the Chowk Bazar area of Surat. Mohammadia Ahsania Hr. Sec. School is a place where local kids come for their higher secondary education. The building has been part of this neighborhood for a long time. You can hear the sounds of the market nearby while the students are in their classes. We have teachers who have been with us for years. They know the families around here. It’s not a giant campus with big sports fields, but we make use of the space we have. The hallways get crowded during the breaks, and there’s always someone running late. We focus on the books and making sure the students are ready for their exams. There’s a lot of writing and reading involved every day. Parents come by to talk about how their children are doing, usually in the afternoons. We try to keep things organized, though it gets a bit noisy when the bell rings at the end of the day. The classrooms have the basics, desks and boards. It’s a regular school where we just get on with the job of teaching. Living and working in Surat means we are used to the heat and the bustle of the city. We just want the students to finish their studies and find a good path afterward. It’s a simple, community-focused school that serves the needs of the children in this specific part of town.
