Modi School

Modi School is right in Asha Nagar, specifically at A-16. This is in the 395003 area of Surat. We are a small local school that has been around for a while. The building is tucked into the residential streets of Asha Nagar, which makes it easy for the local kids to walk to school. It’s not a very big place, just a few floors with classrooms for the different grades. Every morning, you can hear the sounds of the children arriving and getting settled for their first period. We don't have a lot of extra space, but we make the most of what we have. The rooms have the basic stuff like desks and blackboards. It’s a very normal, everyday kind of school. We aren't part of some big corporate chain; we just do our own thing here. The staff are mostly local people who have lived in Surat for a long time. When the school day ends, the street outside gets pretty busy with parents coming to pick up their children. It’s a bit chaotic for twenty minutes, then it goes back to being a quiet neighborhood. We just keep our heads down and do the work of teaching the kids who come to us. It’s a simple life here at the school, and we like it that way. Asha Nagar is our home and this is where we work every single day.
