Modern Sainik School

Modern Sainik School is located along the Puna Kumbhariya Canal Road here in Surat. If you drive down the Puna Kumbhariya Road, you can’t miss it. The school has a bit of a different feel compared to the regular ones in town. We try to keep things very orderly. Everything has its place, from the way the desks are lined up to how the students stand during the morning assembly. It’s not about being fancy, but about being disciplined. The building itself is quite large and faces the canal. You can see the water from the upper floors, which is a nice view when the sun is setting. We have a lot of open space for activities, though the grass gets a bit dry during the summer months. The staff here is pretty straightforward. We don’t use a lot of big words or complicated explanations. We just tell the students what needs to be done and expect them to do it. The office is usually busy with people coming in to talk about uniforms or schedules. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving from one room to another. It’s a tiring job but it feels productive. We don't have air conditioning in every room, so the ceiling fans work hard all day long. It’s a practical environment for learning how to be responsible and getting through the school day without any trouble or wasted time.
