Lalit D Desai

My name is Lalit D Desai and I operate out of 108 Surat Shahid Corner. Our place is in the Sanam Apartment building. It’s a decent spot, right on the corner where you can see the traffic coming and going. Being in an apartment building means things are a bit more quiet than being right on a main market street, but we still get plenty of visitors. I’ve lived in Surat for most of my life, and this corner has changed quite a bit since I was younger. The apartment itself is nothing too special, just a regular place with high ceilings and some old windows that rattle when the wind is strong. I spend a lot of my time just sitting here, handling the paperwork and talking to people who come by. We don’t have a team of people or any fancy technology. It’s just me and a few basic things to get the job done. Sometimes I take a break and walk down to the corner to see what’s happening. You get to know the regulars after a while, like the guy who sells fruit or the postman. It’s a very steady life. I like the independence of having my own small space. It’s not about growing into some giant company; it’s just about doing what I know how to do and being consistent with it. That’s how we’ve always done it here in Sanam Apartment, and it works for us.
