We are located on the 2nd floor of the Keval Krupa Society in Bhatena. It is units 28 and 29. You have to walk up the stairs, and by the time you reach the top, you can see all the colors through the open door. It is a bit of a different setup being in a society building instead of a main market street, but it is quieter this way. We have sarees everywhere—silk, cotton, and all sorts of fabrics draped over the racks or folded in neat piles. The light comes in through the big windows and hits the embroidery, which is nice in the early mornings. It is a family-run kind of thing, so there is always a teapot going and someone sitting on the floor sorting through the new arrivals. Bhatena is a busy area for textiles, so there is always someone moving bundles of cloth downstairs or in the hallways. We don't have a big neon sign or anything like that. People mostly come because they have heard about us from a neighbor or a friend. It is a cozy space, maybe a bit too small when we get a lot of stock in at once. We spend our days unfolding and folding, making sure everything looks decent. It is a lot of manual work, and the fans never seem to be fast enough in the afternoon heat. But it is a good way to live. We just stay here in Keval Krupa, doing our work and watching the world go by.
