We are located right inside the Kohinoor Textile Market. If you’ve ever been to the market, you know how hectic it can be. Mukul Sarees is just one of the many shops, but we’ve carved out our own little space here. It’s crowded with stacks of sarees reaching almost to the ceiling. We don't have much room for a desk, so we usually sit on the floor cushions while we show the fabrics to whoever walks in. The light isn't great, but it’s enough to see the colors. Most of our day is spent unfolding and folding back fabrics. It’s a constant cycle. Sometimes the market gets so loud you can’t hear the person standing right next to you. We deal with all sorts of people, from big wholesalers to small shop owners. There is always a smell of new fabric and maybe some incense from the morning prayers. We don't do any big advertising; people usually find us through word of mouth or by just wandering through the aisles of Kohinoor. It’s a fast-paced life in the textile trade. We drink a lot of tea and talk to our neighbors while waiting for the next customer. It’s not a polished retail store like you see in the malls. It’s a real market shop where things are a bit messy but everything has its place. We just try to keep our stock fresh and our customers happy enough to come back next season.
