Jin Kushal Sarees

If you ever walk through the Abhinandan Textile Market on Ring Road, you will find us at number 576 on the upper-ground floor. The market is a total maze, especially when people are moving big bundles of cloth around the narrow aisles. Our shop is filled from the floor all the way to the ceiling with different sarees. It is a lot of color and many different types of fabric stacked up on the wooden shelves. Most days we are just busy unfolding things for people to look at and then folding them back up again carefully. It takes a lot of time to get the folds looking right. The Ring Road area is always noisy with the sounds of rickshaws and people shouting outside. Inside the market, it stays a little cooler but it is still very crowded. We have been in this same spot for a long time and we know most of the other shop owners nearby. We get a lot of regular customers who know exactly where to find us in the Abhinandan building. Sometimes the lights flicker when the market is really busy, but we just keep on working. We spend a lot of our time checking the stock and making sure we have the items people are asking for. It is a family-run kind of place and we drink a lot of tea while we talk to the customers. It is a simple life surrounded by textiles.
