Hindustan Tools

Hindustan Tools is located over in the industrial part of Rakhial. We are at number 6 in the Lalita Industrial Estate, which is right across from Ajay Estate. If you are coming down this way, you just look for the Dena Bank, and we are quite close to that. The area is always full of trucks and the sound of machines running. Our workshop isn't very large, but we have everything packed in there. It smells like metal and machine oil most of the time, which is something you just get used to after the first week. We spend a lot of time at the benches, working on different bits and pieces. It’s a bit messy, with metal shavings on the floor and tools spread out everywhere, but we know exactly where everything is. The neighbors are mostly other workshops and small factories, so there is always someone around to borrow a wrench from or grab a chai with during the break. We don’t have a front desk or anyone to answer phones in a professional way. Usually, someone just wipes their hands on a rag and comes over to see what you need. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the back door, but we just put a bucket there and keep going. That’s just life in the estate.
