Our place is G 3 Sarees Dot Com and you can find us at Plot No. F8 in Weal Park. It is part of the Sayan Textile Park, which is a massive area located near the RJD Textile Park. We are out on Hazira Road in Icchapore. It is a bit of a drive from the main city, but this is where all the textile action happens. The roads around here are always full of big trucks carrying huge rolls of fabric. Our unit is quite large because we need the space for all the sarees we handle every day. The air inside always smells a bit like new cloth and dye. We spend hours sorting through different patterns and checking the work that comes in. It is a lot of standing and walking around the concrete warehouse floor. We do not have any air conditioning in the storage areas, so we use big industrial fans to keep the air moving. Most of us eat our lunch together in a small corner we cleared out between the storage racks. It is a busy environment, especially when a new shipment arrives and we have to move fast. The Sayan area is growing quickly, but it still feels a bit quiet compared to the heart of Surat. We like having the room to operate without being squeezed into a tiny shop. We just get on with our daily tasks.
