Dharpipla Farmers Producer Company Limited is really a group effort by the local folks here in the Ranpur area. We are based out of Bhavnagar district in Gujarat, specifically at Dharpipla. Our main point of contact is Chihala Shivrajbhai Sundarbai’s place. It’s a rural setting, which is exactly where a farmers' company should be. We deal with the actual problems that come up when you’re trying to grow things in this soil. It’s not always pretty. Sometimes the rain doesn't come when it should, or the prices at the market are too low. We formed this group so we could help each other out with better seeds and maybe get a better price by working together. It’s a very local operation. You won't find any suits here, just people who know what it’s like to work in the sun all day. We meet up when we can to discuss what the next season looks like. The address is basically someone's home and a shared space for the community. We are proud to be from Ranpur. People here know each other by name, and that’s how we run the business too. It’s about making sure the farmers in Dharpipla have a fair shot. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that. We just talk over tea and figure out how to get through the next harvest. The road to the village isn't always the best, but we make it work. It's just about farmers helping farmers at the end of the day.
