Devi Krupa

Bharthana is where we are, at house number 1014. Devi Krupa isn't a big company with a lobby or a receptionist. It is more of a local fixture. Most people in the area know exactly where we are without needing a GPS. The building has been there for a long time and it shows its age in the cracks in the plaster and the way the door creaks when you open it. We don't have a fancy website or a list of corporate values. We just show up in the morning, open the shutters, and see what needs to be done. Whether it is handling small goods or managing local requests, we just take it as it comes. Sometimes the cows from the nearby lane wander too close to the entrance and we have to shoo them away. It is a quiet existence for the most part. We have a small desk where the ledger sits, and that is where all the real work happens. It’s all handwritten mostly, because we trust the pen more than the computer sometimes. We have tea with the neighbors and talk about the weather or the local festivals. It’s a very human way of doing business. We aren't trying to change the world, we are just trying to do our bit for the community here in Bharthana and keep things running smoothly for everyone who relies on us. We've been here for years and we don't plan on going anywhere else anytime soon.
