Chauhan Minakumari

Working out of the Kamrej City Market means there is never a quiet moment. I am Minakumari and this is where I spend my days. The market is full of people from early morning until late at night. You can hear the vendors shouting and the smell of fresh produce is everywhere. My spot is not very big but it is right in the heart of the action. It is a practical location because everyone passes through here at some point during the week. The floor is concrete and the walls are just plain. I do not have a lot of decorations because there is no room for them. Mostly I just focus on the people who come in and what they need. Sometimes it gets really hot in the middle of the day and the fans do not do much but move the warm air around. I have been in Kamrej for years and I know a lot of the other shop owners by name. We all just try to get through the day and do our work. It is a busy life but I am used to it. The market has its own way of working and you just have to find your place in it. I do not use any fancy systems, just a notebook and some basic tools to keep track of things. It is honest work in a very loud and lively place.
