Bipin H Patel

Bipin H Patel’s office is on the first floor of Geeta Apartment. We are right by the Sahara Darwaja Ring Road in Nanpura. If you’ve ever been stuck in traffic there, you’ve probably looked up and seen our building. It’s an old place, but it’s sturdy and keeps the rain out. Being on the first floor is nice because we don’t have to climb too many stairs, which is better for some of the older folks who come to see us. The Ring Road is always loud, so there’s a constant hum of trucks and rickshaws outside. We’ve got a lot of files piled up because we’ve been doing this for a long time. It’s just Bipin and a couple of us helping out. We don’t have a fancy reception area or anything like that. You just walk in and sit down. Most of the day is spent checking ledgers and making phone calls to people. Sometimes we have to head out to the government offices, so the place stays locked for an hour or two in the afternoon. We try to be back before the evening rush starts. It’s a simple setup in a very busy part of Surat. We know the shopkeepers downstairs well and often share a tea with them when things are slow. It’s just how we run things here, keeping it practical and focusing on the tasks at hand each day.
