Work happens for us at L 12 inside the Sajani Complex. This is right in the middle of the Ratan Pole and Waghan Pole area in Lal Darwaja. If you have ever been through these poles, you know how tight the streets can be. It is an old part of the city, and it has a lot of character, even if it is a bit crowded. Bhinang S Dalal is the name on the door. The building itself has been there for a long time. It can be a bit of a maze to find the right unit if you are visiting for the first time, but we are used to it. The lights inside are a little dim, but they work fine for what we do. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who drop by from the neighboring shops. It is the kind of place where everyone knows everyone else. We hear the temple bells and the vendors shouting all day long. It is never quiet, but that is the energy of the market. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, so we just sit outside and chat until it comes back on. We don’t have fancy air conditioning or anything like that, just a couple of sturdy ceiling fans. It is a very basic setup. We just focus on the daily tasks and make sure the accounts are kept in order.
