You can find us at Ashoka Tower, right on the busy Ring Road. We take up three units, 2002, 2003, and 2004, which sounds like a lot of space but once the new stock arrives, we can barely move. Ring Road is always crowded, so getting here can be a bit of a headache with all the traffic and carts moving around. We have been in the saree business for a while now. It’s mostly stacks of boxes and bundles of fabric wrapped in plastic. We aren't the kind of place with fancy mannequins or air-conditioned changing rooms. It’s a workplace. We spend most of our time unpacking shipments, checking the prints, and then packing them back up for customers who come from all over the state. Usually, we have tea brought in twice a day from the stall downstairs, and that’s when we take a break. The noise from the street never really stops, but you get used to it after a few weeks. We don’t do much advertising. People know we are here because we’ve been in the same units for years. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy bundles and keeping track of the inventory. Sometimes the elevator in the tower is slow, so we end up waiting around, but that's just part of life here. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily rush of sarees.
