Arbi Burkha

Jimkhana Road gets pretty busy sometimes, especially with the police station right across from our spot. We've been here at Arbi Burkha for a while now. Most people know the Rander Pulic Station, so they just look opposite that and there we are. Inside, it’s mostly just stacks of fabric and the different burkhas we have out. It isn't a huge fancy place, just a normal shop where we keep things organized the way we like. Sometimes the morning traffic is a bit loud but you get used to it. We spend a lot of time just making sure everything is in its right place on the hangers. People walk by on their way to other shops and sometimes they pop in just to see what’s new. We don’t have any big signs or anything too flashy. It’s a simple setup. Usually, the lights are on early and we stay until the evening. The street has its own rhythm. You see the same faces every day. We just focus on the work we have to do. If someone needs a burkha, they know where to find us. It’s quiet in the back where we keep the extra stock. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty with the road right there, so we do a lot of cleaning. That’s just how it is running a place like this. There are a few stools if someone needs to sit down, but mostly it's just us and the items on the rack. It's a decent way to spend the day.
