About Advocate Shashi Patil – Legal Consultants in Surat
You can find me at the New Court Building near the Athwa Makkai Pool Circle. It is a busy spot, especially in the mornings when all the hearings are starting up. My office is just a regular room where I keep my law books and all the files for my clients. It is nothing like the offices you see in movies with the big leather chairs. I have a simple desk and some wooden shelves that are completely full. Being an advocate means I spend a lot of time either here or in the courtroom. The Makkai Pool area is always full of cars and rickshaws, so the noise filters in through the windows sometimes. I have been practicing here since the building was first finished. It is a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it, but you eventually learn where all the different departments are. I handle a lot of different things, mostly just helping people navigate the legal system. It involves a lot of reading and even more waiting. I usually have a cup of tea on my desk that has gone cold because I got distracted by a document. The people who come to see me are often stressed, so I just try to be straightforward with them. It’s not a flashy life, but it’s the one I chose. The circle outside is a good place to catch a rickshaw when I finally head home.
