Shakeel Ul Rehman

Jehangir Chowk is probably one of the busiest spots you can find in Srinagar. That is where we are. My name is Shakeel Ul Rehman, and this is where I spend most of my life. If you know the chowk, you know the sound of the horns and the constant movement of people. It is a bit chaotic, but it is home for the business. I have been set up here for quite some time now. Most people who come through the door are locals who are just passing by or have heard about us from their family. We don't really do anything fancy here. The office is simple, maybe even a bit cramped because of all the stuff we have to keep track of. I usually have tea on the desk and papers scattered around. It is the kind of place where you can just walk in and talk to me directly. We don't have fancy receptionists or a big waiting room with glossy magazines. It is just a functional space in the heart of the city. We deal with whatever comes our way each day. Some days are slow and we just watch the traffic outside, and other days we can't even find a minute to sit down. Being at Jehangir Chowk means you are in the middle of everything. It keeps us on our toes. We are just here doing our job in the middle of Srinagar and making it work.
