Dee Ess

Our shop, Dee Ess, is tucked away in the Main Market of Waza Bagh over in Hyderpora. Living and working in Budgam means dealing with all sorts of weather, and the shop has seen plenty of cold winters and rainy days. It is a small place where we keep a mix of things that people in the neighborhood might need in a hurry. We don't really have a big staff, just a couple of us who take turns sitting at the front. The shelves are mostly filled with everyday items and some things we think might be useful for the local houses nearby. The Waza Bagh area is usually busy with people walking to the main road, so we get a lot of foot traffic throughout the day. The building itself is quite old and has that specific smell of wood and cardboard boxes. We try to keep things organized, but when new stock arrives, there are usually piles of crates sitting near the door for a few hours. It’s not a polished retail outlet like you see in the big cities. It’s just a local shop where the light flickers sometimes and we have to fix the door handle every few months. People know they can find us here from morning until the evening prayer time. We just provide what we can to the folks living around Hyderpora without making any big fuss about it.
