Ox Brigde School

Down in Narakara, Budgam, you will find Ox Brigde School. We are in the 190001 area of Srinagar. It is a local school that has been serving this part of the city for a bit. The building stands out a little, but inside it is just classrooms and corridors like any other place. We have students coming from nearby houses, mostly walking to the gates every morning. The winters here in Srinagar can be quite tough, so we spend a lot of time making sure the rooms stay warm enough for the kids to sit comfortably. It is not a very quiet place once the kids arrive. There is always someone running in the hallway or a teacher calling out a name. We don't do things in a very formal or corporate way. It’s more of a community feel here. Parents often stop by to talk about how their kids are doing, and we usually have time for a quick chat. The furniture is sturdy but nothing special. We just try to follow the curriculum and make sure the students don’t fall behind. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just keep going with the windows open for light. That is just how life is here in Budgam. We aren't trying to be the biggest school around. We just provide a place for education right here in the neighborhood. It is straightforward and practical for everyone involved in the school day.
