Dilbar Kashmiri Wazwan

Rambagh is a busy part of Srinagar, and our place is right near the Chowk. Dilbar Kashmiri Wazwan is inside the Ram Bagh Shopping Complex. It’s not a very new building, so you have to look for us a bit. We do traditional cooking here. It’s the kind of food we grew up eating in our own homes. We don’t use shortcuts or machines for the meat; it’s all done by hand like it should be. The kitchen is always full of steam and the smell of spices. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when there are many orders at once. We are just a local crew, mostly guys from the neighborhood. Srinagar winters are cold, so we stay busy when people want something warm. The shopping complex can be a bit cramped, and parking near the Chowk is always a headache for everyone. We don't have a big website or a marketing person. Most people just walk in because they were shopping nearby or they live around Ram Bagh. We keep the tables clean and the food hot. That is about all we promise. It’s a tough business and some days are better than others. We’ve been at this address for a while now and we like being part of the local market. If you are around Rambagh Chowk, you can usually find us without too much trouble. We just keep our heads down and cook.
