City Food

City Food is located in Mukhdoompora, which is part of the Nowshera area in Srinagar. Even though the name sounds like it could be a big restaurant, we are actually a local spot where people get their daily food supplies and some ready-to-eat snacks. The pin code here is 190011. We have been operating from this location for several years now. Most of our day is spent packing up items like curd, local bread, and some pulses for the residents nearby. It is a busy little neighborhood and there is always something going on in the streets. I try to keep the place as clean as I can, though with the mud and rain in Srinagar, it can be a challenge. We get our supplies from the main mandi and try to bring in things that are fresh. People stop by on their way home to pick up things for their evening tea. We don't have any staff really, just a couple of us who take turns sitting at the counter. It is a simple setup with a few refrigerators and some shelves. We don't believe in doing much promotion because word of mouth works better in Mukhdoompora anyway. If someone is new to the area, they usually find us by asking around. We just want to provide what people need without making it complicated. It is a decent way to make a living and serve the folks in Nowshera.
