Vikash High School

Vikash High School is based in the Bagyanagar area of Srikakulam. It’s a place that many people in this neighborhood are familiar with. The school has been around for a while, and the building shows its age in a few spots, but it’s sturdy. We have a playground where the kids run around during their breaks, and you can hear their shouting from blocks away. Srikakulam is our home, and we like being part of the local community here. The classrooms are basic with wooden benches and desks that have had many names carved into them over the years. We teach the usual subjects required by the board. The teachers here are mostly locals who have been living in Srikakulam for most of their lives. We don't use any complicated software or fancy teaching methods. It’s mostly just reading from the textbooks and writing on the board. The students come in at 532001 and stay until the afternoon bell rings. We have parent-teacher meetings where we sit on the same benches as the kids and talk about grades. It’s a very normal, everyday kind of place. No one is trying to be something they aren't. We just provide a place for the children to study and spend their day while their parents are at work. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we do here in Bagyanagar, day after day, through every season.
