Maharshi Vidya Niketan

Maharshi Vidya Niketan is based in Rapakaputtuga, which is in the Sompeta area of Srikakulam. It’s a bit of a rural setting, away from the loud noises of the big cities. The school is surrounded by a lot of open land and greenery, which gives it a calm feel. We have a basic building that houses all the classrooms. Most of the children who come here are from the nearby villages and farms. They usually arrive on foot or on the back of their parents' cycles. The school doesn't have any high-tech facilities, just the standard classrooms with benches and blackboards. We follow the regular curriculum and the teachers do their best to explain the lessons in a way the kids can understand. During the break, the children run around in the open space outside, which can get a bit dusty when it hasn't rained for a while. It’s a very traditional environment where respect for the teacher is still very important. We don't have a big office or a reception desk; usually, if a parent needs something, they just find a teacher in the hallway. The school has been part of this community for a while and everyone knows where we are. It is a simple place where the focus is on basic literacy and education for the local kids. We just keep things moving day by day, making sure the students are attending their classes and doing their homework.
