Priyadarshini Junior College

Priyadarshini Junior College is tucked away in Priyadarshini Nagar in Atmakur. If you know Nellore, you know it gets pretty hot during the day, so we try to keep the classrooms as cool as possible with old ceiling fans. This is a junior college, so we see a lot of teenagers who are just trying to figure out their next steps in life after school. It is not a very large campus, but we have enough space for the labs and the main hall. Most of the staff have been living in Atmakur for a long time, so there is a very local feel to the place. We aren't trying to be some high-tech institution. It’s just a place with books, benches, and teachers who have seen hundreds of students come and go over the years. You can usually find us in the office handling some sort of registration or sorting out student records. The building is a bit plain on the outside, but it serves its purpose for the community here. On exam days, the whole street gets quiet, and you can feel the tension from the students waiting outside. We just provide the space and the structure for them to get through their intermediate years. It’s a straightforward operation, nothing fancy or complicated. We’ve been here for a good while, and most people in the neighborhood know where we are if they need us for anything regarding their kids' education.
