Wicker World Exports

Hauz Khas Village is a strange place to work sometimes because it is so crowded and full of life. We are at No. 6, right in the middle of it all. Wicker World Exports has been here for a good bit of time. We mostly deal with export orders and handling all the wicker items that come through our doors. If you’ve ever walked down the narrow lanes here, you know how it feels. It’s a bit cramped but we make it work. We have boxes everywhere and someone is always checking a list or packing something up. Working with wicker means there is always a bit of dust or stray bits of wood on the floor. We don't mind. It feels like a real workshop. Sometimes tourists wander in thinking we are a cafe, which is funny. We just tell them we do exports. The village has changed so much, with all the new bars and boutiques, but we just stick to our corner. It gets noisy on weekends, but we are usually busy with shipping schedules and talking to suppliers. It is a lot of back and forth. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us making sure things get sent out on time. It is hard work but we like being in this part of Delhi. There is a lot of history just outside the door and it's nice to be here.
