Verandah

We are based in the Ambawatta Complex on Mehrauli Village Road. Our shop is called Verandah. It’s a nice area, quite different from the busier industrial parts of the city. We deal with home decor and some furniture pieces, mostly things that have a bit of a different look to them. We spend a lot of time searching for items that aren't just mass-produced in a factory. Sometimes the shop is full of new arrivals and other times it looks a bit empty while we wait for a shipment to come in. We try to keep things relaxed here. We don't hover over people while they’re looking around. Mehrauli Village Road has its own charm, though the parking can be a bit of a nightmare on weekends. We’ve been part of this complex for a while and we know the other shopkeepers pretty well. Our day usually involves dusting off the displays and talking to people who wander in. We aren't trying to be some high-end luxury brand. We just like nice things and we think other people might like them too for their homes. We don't do much in the way of big promotions. People usually find us because they’re already in the complex for something else. It’s a small, local operation, and we like keeping it that way because it's easier to manage and feels more personal.
