Wheatons Design

We are over in Vasant Kunj, at B-2/2241. It’s basically a residential area, so it’s much quieter than a commercial hub. Wheatons Design started small and we've kept it that way. We use one of the rooms as our main workspace. It’s full of sketches, fabric samples, and color charts. There’s always music playing in the background. It helps us focus. We do a lot of design work, mostly for people who want something a bit different for their homes or small offices. We don't have a big sign outside. Most people find us because a friend told them about us. We spend a lot of time talking to folks about what they like and what they don't. Sometimes we spend hours just trying to get a single detail right. It can be frustrating, but that’s just how design goes. We aren't a big agency with hundreds of people. It’s just a couple of us doing everything. We answer our own phones and do our own sketches. Vasant Kunj is a nice place to work from. There’s a bit of greenery around which is good when you need to take a break from the screen. We don't follow a strict nine-to-five schedule. Sometimes we're working late into the night if an idea finally clicks. It’s a bit disorganized at times, with papers everywhere, but we managed to get the work done anyway. We usually have a lot of tea while we're going over the final drafts. Our cats sometimes walk across the table while we work.
