Satpal & Sons is located at X-38G in Loha Mandi. If you’ve ever been to a Loha Mandi, you know it’s all about iron and steel. The whole area is filled with the sound of heavy metal being moved and the smell of rust and diesel. Our spot is just one of many in the row, with a big open front where the trucks pull in. It’s a family-run thing, so there’s usually one of the brothers or sons around to handle things. The office part is just a small cabin built into the corner of the warehouse, with a heavy desk and some old chairs for customers. Everything in here has a thin layer of iron dust on it, no matter how much we try to clean it. We spend our days weighing metal, checking the inventory, and arguing with the truck drivers about where to park. It’s heavy, physical work and it’s definitely not a clean job. Our hands are usually stained by the end of the day. We don't have a website or any fancy marketing. People just know where we are because we’ve been in Loha Mandi for years. We drink tea in small glasses and talk about the price of steel and the weather. It’s a simple life, focused on the metal coming in and going out of the gate. We don't try to be anything we're not; we just handle the iron.
