Nand Kishor Sharma

Working out of chamber 339 in the Dwarka Lawyer Chamber is a bit of a daily whirlwind. The hallways are always full of people rushing around with black coats and stacks of files. Inside the chamber, space is a bit tight because of all the books and legal papers covering almost every surface. It’s where I spend most of my time when I’m not actually in the courtroom. We deal with all sorts of legal matters, mostly helping people navigate through the court system which can be really confusing for them. I’ve been here for quite some time now, and the routine of court dates and filings has become a second nature. There's always a lot of tea being drunk and discussions about cases happening in the corners. It’s not like what you see on TV; it’s mostly just hard work and reading through long documents until your eyes get tired. Sometimes clients come in looking very worried, and we just sit down and talk through their options in plain language. The atmosphere in the chambers is usually quite energetic with all the lawyers talking at once. It’s a small space, but it’s where all the important decisions get prepared. I just take things day by day, focusing on the files on my desk and making sure everything is ready for the next hearing. It's a busy life but it feels right. The coffee machine down the hall is usually my first stop every morning.
