We’re based at Plot No 15 in the Abhiyan Co Society, which is located in Sector 12 of Dwarka, Delhi. Being in Dwarka is quite convenient because the roads are wider than in the older parts of the city, though the traffic is catching up these days. J K Cement Ltd isn't some massive skyscraper office; we’re situated in a more community-focused area. The office is basically where we manage the logistics and the sales side of the cement business. You won’t find piles of cement bags inside the office itself, thank goodness, but we have all the samples and technical sheets ready for anyone who needs to see them. It’s a busy place with people coming and going, mostly contractors or site managers checking on their orders. We spend a lot of our time on the phone coordinating with the plants and the delivery trucks. The office has a bit of a lived-in feel, with maps on the wall and calendars marked up with delivery dates. We don't really go for the corporate look. Our desks are old-fashioned wooden ones that have seen better days, but they do the job. We have a small area where we can sit down with visitors and have a cup of water or tea while we talk through the requirements. It’s a functional space where we focus on getting the product to the sites without too much fuss.
