Chauhan Khad Beese Bhandar

If you head down Naraina Main Road, you’ll find us at Wz-555. Chauhan Khad Beese Bhandar is mostly about seeds and fertilizer, so the shop always has that specific earthy smell to it. It’s a smell you get used to after a week or so of working here. Farmers and gardeners come in through the day, mostly early in the morning before the sun gets too high. We have bags piled up everywhere, and sometimes the floors get a bit dusty from the grain or the fertilizer dust. It’s a practical place. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just the shop front where people can walk in and ask what we have in stock. My father used to say that the inventory is more important than the paint on the walls, so we haven’t changed the look of the place in years. It’s got that old-school feel where we know most of the people who walk through the door by their first name. We spend a lot of time moving bags from the back to the front. It keeps you fit, I guess. When it rains, the road outside gets pretty muddy, but that’s good for the business because people start thinking about planting. We just stay here, drink our tea, and wait for the next customer to come in with a question about their soil. It is a very basic life but we enjoy the work here.
