You can find us at Shop No.4&5 on the Panjim Belgaum Road, right near the Hotel Sun Inn in Warkhande. Being on NH-4A means there are always big trucks rolling by, making the whole shop shake a little bit throughout the day. At Shree Brahmanand Steel, we deal with a lot of heavy metal, mostly rods and structural stuff. The sound of steel clanging together is basically the soundtrack to my day. It’s a loud, dusty environment, but I’ve grown to like it over the years. We spend a lot of time moving rods and beams around, which takes a lot of muscle and some steady hands so nobody gets hurt. The sun can get really intense on this road, and the steel gets hot enough to burn you, so you have to be careful how you handle it. We have a couple of shops joined together to give us enough space for the longer pieces of steel that wouldn't fit otherwise. It’s a basic setup, really. We don't have any fancy displays or a reception area with coffee. It’s just a place where steel is kept and sold to people who need it. People driving between Panjim and Belgaum often stop by because we are right on the highway. I usually have a cup of tea while watching the traffic go by when things get a bit slow in the late afternoon. It’s a simple business, and we just focus on getting the steel out to the local construction sites.
